Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a gentle, non-invasive form of medicine using highly-diluted substances to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. In individualised Homeopathy, the Homeopath will match all of the patients’ symptoms (mental, physical and emotional), to a single, or small number, of homeopathic remedies.

Due to the highly-diluted nature of homeopathic remedies, they are considered safe, non-toxic and unlikely to cause side-effects. However, as with any type of healthcare intervention, it is always recommended to consult a qualified Homeopath and advise your primary care provider in order to achieve the best level of health management and medical care.

It is estimated that over 200 million people use Homeopathy across more than 80 countries - its popularity and its market share continue to expand globally.

How Was Homeopathy Discovered?

Homeopathy was developed in 1796 by the German physician and scientist, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. Dissatisfied with many of the medical practices of his time, Hahnemann began exploring a different approach to healing — one that worked in harmony with the body’s natural ability to recover and restore balance.

The name homeopathy comes from Greek words meaning “similar suffering” and is based on the principle that a substance capable of producing symptoms in a healthy person may, when specially prepared, help stimulate healing in someone experiencing similar symptoms. This idea, often referred to as “like cures like,” echoes observations made by physicians such as Hippocrates more than 2,000 years earlier.

Homeopathy takes a holistic view of health, recognising that symptoms are not simply isolated problems but expressions of imbalance within the whole person. For this reason, homeopathic treatment focuses on the individual rather than solely on the diagnosis, taking into account physical symptoms as well as emotional and mental wellbeing.

Although these concepts may be new to some people, homeopathy has been practised around the world for more than 200 years and continues to be chosen by individuals seeking a personalised and gentle approach to healthcare.
